MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511113450 A) filed by Shree Guru Gobind Singh Tricentenary University, Gurugram, Haryana, on Nov. 18, 2025, for 'disposable hygienic liner for an ayurvedic ocular therapy device.'
Inventor(s) include Priyanka Yadav; and Dr. Poonam Bamola.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A disposable hygienic liner for an Ayurvedic ocular therapy device comprising an anatomically contoured liner body made of medical grade PET microfilm with biodegradable PLA micro coating defining a liquid retaining chamber for warm medicated ghee or herbal infusion, an inner non wettable coating of cured medical grade silicone elastomer applied over a thermoplastic elastomer membrane to reduce absorption and surface adherence of therapeutic fluids, a peripheral adhesive seal of hypoallergenic hydrocolloid adhesive mixture to adhere the liner to periorbital skin for leak proof interface, and sterile single use packaging enclosing the pre sterilized liner and disposing it after one therapy session, the combination ensures cleanliness, safety, ease of use, hygiene, and minimizes risk of contamination during ocular therapy."
