MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202514089437 A) filed by Lg Display Co. Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on Sept. 19, 2025, for 'display apparatus having an electro-static discharge circuit.'
Inventor(s) include Shin, Sang Il; Kang, Jae Chang; Kim, Tae Kyun; and Choi, Ji Su.
The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A display apparatus includes a device substrate (100) having a display area (AA) and a bezel area (BZ) with an organic insulating layer disposed on the display area (AA) of the device substrate (100), and a plurality of inorganic insulating layers (110, 120, 130, 140, 150, 160) disposed between the device substrate (100) and the organic insulating layer. The plurality of inorganic insulating layers (110, 120, 130, 140, 150, 160), as well as a plurality of signal wirings (GL, DL, PL), extend from the display area (AA) to on the bezel area (BZ) of the device substrate (100). Also, an electro-static discharge (ESD) circuit is disposed on the bezel area (BZ), the electro-static discharge circuit (700) including a first ESD transistor electrically connected to a second ESD transistor and a signal wiring of the plurality of signal wirings (GL, DL, PL) with the ESD circuit preventing damage in pixel area due to a static electricity."
