MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202631044676 A) filed by Dr. Sudhir Chandra Sur Institute Of Technology And Sports Complex, Kolkata, West Bengal, on April 8, for 'digital thermometer.'
Inventor(s) include Aparna Pathak; Swagata Das; Sushovan Chandra; Sourav Kumar; Anirban Neogi; Arindam Sadhu; and Pradipta Maiti.
The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a digital thermometric and hygrometric system comprising a DHT11 digital sensor, a NodeMCU microcontroller, and an I2C-interfaced LCD. The system employs a single-wire digital communication protocol to acquire real-time temperature and humidity data, which is then processed by the microcontroller to ensure measurement validity through integrated error detection logic. The processed data is visually represented on the LCD through an efficient two-wire I2C interface. By eliminating the use of mercury and leveraging low-power embedded hardware, the device provides a safe, scalable, and IoT-ready solution for clinical, residential, and educational monitoring applications."
