MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521110500 A) filed by Symbiosis International, Pune, Maharashtra, on Nov. 12, 2025, for 'digital revival of tholpavakoothu craft system.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a system (100) for revitalizing the traditional art form of Tholpavakoothu through digital means, wherein the system (100) comprises a digital platform (102) configured to host multimedia content related to Tholpavakoothu; a booking module (104) for enabling online reservations for performances and training sessions; a streaming module (106) for delivering live and recorded Tholpavakoothu performances; a gamification module (108) comprising interactive mini-games themed on Tholpavakoothu motifs; a content repository (110) for storing historical, cultural, and instructional material; and a user interface (112) adapted for multilingual access and inclusive participation. During operation, the system (100) is operable to engage younger audiences, support artisans, and preserve the cultural heritage of Tholpavakoothu by integrating traditional storytelling with modern digital infrastructure, thereby creating a scalable and accessible ecosystem for cultural continuity and community empowerment."
