MUMBAI, India, June 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202331042115 A) filed by Indian Jute Industries Research Association; and India Electronics Inc., Kolkata, West Bengal, on Dec. 23, 2023, for 'digital moisture meter with and without bluetooth.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Anil Kumar Sharma; Smt. Soumita Chowdhury; Sri Jitesh Koyal; and Surajit Paul.
The application for the patent was published on June 27, under issue no. 26/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A digital moisture meter for measuring Moisture Regain (MR) % 0f fibrers including jute and allied products comprising a microcontroller based electrotechnical moisture meter including a microcontroller unit operatively connected to atleast one applied pressure for moisture measurement sensitive electrode assembly means comprising an anode and a a cathode adapted for press contact based moisture measurement of the fibre for testing; analog to digital converter means operatively connected to sense the operative applied pressure of contact of said electrode means on fiber and also to sense the moisture content dependent resistivity ; said microcontroller unit providing for measurable voltage based conversion of the electrical resistivity sensed by the electrode means; and a display for displaying the moisture values digitally . Said electrode assembly means comprises selectively (i) a 2 pin electrode assembly; (ii) a 4-pin electrode assembly and (iii) Flat surface electrode."
