MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411004052 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 19, 2024, for 'diet management assistive device.'

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A diet management assistive device, comprising a plate 1 crafted with plurality of slots 2 to be utilized for serving food items, a computing unit wirelessly linked with a microcontroller for entering details regarding amount of calories required along with medical report, a camera 3 for detecting filling of food item, a drawer arrangement 4 expands to prevent overflowing of food items, a sensing module including a weight sensor and a biosensor detects weight and nutritional value of food items, a speaker 5 for guiding user to increase/decrease amount of calorie consumption, a temperature sensor detects temperature of food items, an LED (Light Emitting Diode) 6 for alerting user to be careful, a glucose sensor detects glucose in food items, plurality of flaps 7 for blocking insect from contaminating food item and a thermal imaging camera 3 detects presence of insect."
