MUMBAI, India, Jan. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511104222 A) filed by Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, on Oct. 29, 2025, for 'dhruva guard: ai-enabled hybrid vehicle accident prevention, detection, and emergency alert system.'
Inventor(s) include Dhiraj Kumar; Chirag Sharma; and Nitish Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Dhruva Guard (100) is an AI-enabled hybrid vehicle safety system for predictive accident prevention and reactive crash detection. The system integrates a crash detection unit (102) with accelerometers, gyroscopes, and vibration sensors; a driver monitoring module (104) for drowsiness and alcohol detection; an alert and tracking system (106) with dual cellular and satellite communication for real-time emergency notifications; and a power and storage module (108) with backup energy. AI algorithms analyze driver state, vehicle dynamics, and road conditions to predict collisions and provide proactive warnings. In case of an accident, the system automatically notifies emergency services, hospitals, law enforcement, and family members. Modular and scalable, the system supports integration with ECU, OBD-II, CAN Bus, and ADAS, enabling global coverage and reliable vehicle safety for standard users, fleets, and emergency service vehicles."
