MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202547088138 A) filed by Nokia Technologies Oy, Espoo, Finland, on Sept. 16, for 'devices, methods, and apparatuses for joint communication and sensing.'

Inventor(s) include Wang, Wenjian; Gao, Fei; Liu, Jianguo; Zhou, Yanni; and Xu, Chaojun.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Embodiments of the present disclosure disclose devices, methods and apparatuses for communications. In the embodiments, a terminal device measures a first set of communication beams and a second set of sensing beams. The terminal device further transmits a measurement report to a network device based on the measuring. The measurement report comprises first sensing assistance information for a beam resource allocation optimization, at least one identification (ID) of at least one communication beam and at least one ID of at least one sensing beam."

The patent application was internationally filed on Feb. 24, 2023, under International application No.PCT/CN2023/078180.
