MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411073965 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Sept. 30, 2024, for 'device for wrapping a car part with a vinyl.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Priyanka Dhiman; Dr. Ankita Dadwal; and Milan Rohilla.
The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A device for wrapping a car part with a vinyl comprising, an elongated plate 1 having an L-shaped cross-section 2 with a rod with a soft coating underneath plate 1 for a user to acquire a grip onto rod, a roller 8 placed vertically on plate 1 for carrying a spool of vinyl, a hot air blower unit 6 mounted on plate 1 for heating vinyl, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 7 mapped on plate 1 to determine an in compatible contour of car part, a microphone, linked with microcontroller mounted on plate 1 for receiving an audio command from user, an L-shaped telescopic arm with a clipper at its end, for pulling an end of vinyl onto first vertical flap 3 and second vertical flap."
