MUMBAI, India, April 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411073946 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Sept. 30, 2024, for 'device for washing clothes.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Parveen Singla; Dr. Ruchi Singla; Dr. Dinesh Arora; Sonia Jindal; Ritu Sharma; Jaspreet Kaur; Kartikay; Vishal; Manoj; and Sumit.

The application for the patent was published on April 10, under issue no. 15/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A device for washing clothes comprises of semi-cylindrical shaped container 1, for storing a washing water, having four vertical rods 2 underneath the container 1 for a stable positioning of the container 1, a semi-cylindrical shaped flap 3, attached with the container 1 by a hinged joint 4 for closing the container 1, an elongate motorized pipe 5 for extending outside the container 1, three hollow cylindrical cages 6 for a placing of clothes into the cages 6for washing, three cages 6 provided on the pipe 5 inside the container 1 to be rotated by the user by the user by the lever, a generator assembly 11 provided on the pipe 5, for a conversion of a mechanical energy from the user into electrical energy, and a speaker 8 to generate an audio alert for the user regarding an increase in the rotations per minute."
