MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311087513 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group Ag, Stuttgart, Germany, on Dec. 21, 2023, for 'device for supporting and facilitating serviceability of functional units in a roof of a vehicle.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A device (100) for supporting and facilitating serviceability of functional units (110) in a roof (102) of a vehicle is disclosed. The device (100) comprises a supporting member (104) and panel (106) detachably coupled to a roof (102) of the vehicle. The supporting member (104) is sized to be accommodated between any or both of a windshield and a rear glass and a corresponding end of a panoramic roof of the vehicle. The panel (106) is fixed with the supporting member (104). The device (100) is removably fixed to the roof (102) from an interior side of the vehicle and is configured to accommodate a plurality of functional units (110) of the vehicle. Accordingly, the life of the device (100) is improved due to the non-involvement of welding or drilling."
