MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024932 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 27, 2024, for 'device for straining, rinsing, boiling or steaming of food items.'

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A device for straining, rinsing, boiling or steaming of food items, comprising a circular frame 1 having a net structure made of plurality of interlinked telescopic rods 2 with hinge joints 3 for accommodating the food items in different quantities, a pair of handles 4 having a heatproof coating for a user to acquire a grip, a pair of L-shaped telescopic arm 5 lowering the food in the net structure into the utensil for a cooking process, plurality of telescopic bars 6 for resting on an end of the utensil to move the net structure to stir the food items, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 8 to scan for the quantity of the food items, a sensing module detects an odor from the food and a speaker 9 to generate an audio alert to the user regarding a removal of the food from heat."
