MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517035705 A) filed by Sbi Mechatronik Gmbh, Hollabrunn, Austria, on April 11, for 'device for setting the gap of a slit die.'
Inventor(s) include Krottendorfer Franz; Weinkopf Johannes; and Lohia Siddharth.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a device for setting the gap (1) of a slit die (2) for producing flat extrusion products such as films for example wherein the slit die (2) has a flexible lip (3) on the length of which a plurality of adjusting elements (4) are arranged at regular intervals for setting the gap profile of the lip (3). Each adjusting element (4) comprises a drive (5) preferably in the form of a stepper motor wherein the drive (5) activates a push rod (6) that is connected in an articulated manner to the longer arm of a two sided lever (7) and wherein the shorter arm of the lever (7) interacts with a linearly guided pressure pin (8) that in turn acts on the flexible lip (3) in order to set the gap (1) in this region."
The patent application was internationally filed on Oct. 18, 2023, under International application No.PCT/AT2023/060355.
