MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441078322 A) filed by Jain, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Oct. 15, 2024, for 'device for removing bark from a wood log.'

The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A device for removing bark from a wood log, comprising a rectangular base 1 having four motorized omnidirectional wheels for a locomotion of the base 1, semicircular cutter arm 2 with a hinge joint, attached by a telescopic arm on a vertical scissor lift provided on the base 1, plurality of motorized cutting wheels 3 attached on an inner periphery of the cutter arm for making cuts on the log for removal of the bark, a clipper 4 attached to the cutter arm, grips a cut bark, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 5 installed on the base 1 to determine an empty area near the base 1 for placing of removed bark held by the clipper 4 and a microphone 6 provided on the base 1 for receiving an audio commands from a user."
