MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411073938 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Sept. 30, 2024, for 'device for providing an overhead shelter during working.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Ramandeep Saini; Dr. Charu Mehan; Anupam Ghai; and Kartik Garg.
The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A device for providing an overhead shelter during working, comprising a rectangular platform 1 for providing a work surface for a use, an L-shaped cross-section 2 attached to the platform 1 for providing seat to the user, plurality of curved flaps 3 attached on two rear edges of the platform 1 for providing shelter to the user as per the requirement, a microphone 4, linked with the microcontroller, provided on the platform 1 for detecting a sound level and an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 5 installed on the platform 1 to determine a presence of people near the platform 1."
