MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411023467 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 25, 2024, for 'device for providing an additional storage surface in a container.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A device for providing an additional storage surface in a container, comprising a rectangular frame 1 having four hydraulic based telescopic side rods, enabling an expansion or retraction of the side rods to change a length of four side rods to change the peripheral dimension of the rectangular frame 1 as per a required secondary storage surface area of a user, a curtain assembly 2 comprising a spool of a curtain fabric provided on a motorized roller for deployment or retraction of the curtain by a rolling of the roller, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 installed on the rectangular frame 1 to determine a position and volume occupied by a luggage placed and a speaker 4 attached to the frame 1 to alert a user of an overload condition."
