MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611023736 A) filed by Vivekananda Institute Of Professional Studies - Technical Campus, New Delhi, on Feb. 27, for 'device for producing an adhesive from banana peels.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Shubhangi Madan; Dr. Komal Aggarwal; Dr. Khushbu; Dr. Nidhi Sharma; Chakshu Arora; Yash Goel; and Tanish Aggarwal.

The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A device for producing an adhesive from banana peels, comprises of a housing 101 having a hopper 102 to receive banana peels manually, a cutting unit 103 to chop banana peels into pieces, a crushing and blending unit 106 to receive the chopped peels and produce a slurry, a heating unit 111 to heat the slurry, at least one property modification unit to dispense a substance into the slurry, a dry starch storage unit 115 equipped with a rotating auger 116 to mix a slurry received from the crushing and blending unit 106, an adhesive storage unit 117 with a cooling fan 118 and a dispensing valve 119 fluidly connected with the dry starch storage unit 115, to lock the dispensing valve 119 if a temperature of the adhesive within the storage unit exceeds a preset threshold, and a touchscreen display 121 for providing real-time data."
