MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441016571 A) filed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited; and Indian Institute Of Technology Kanpur, Bengaluru, Karnataka, on March 7, 2024, for 'device for neutralizing flying objects.'

Inventor(s) include Bommisetty Bhavya Anoohya; Sridharsan K S; Rohan Siwach; Dipanjan Roy; Dr. Debopam Das; and Dharambir Poddar.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The mechanism for ejecting neutralizers according to the invention is mounted on an ejection base such as a drone. The system includes a neutralizer, locking rings (2) of considerable weight attached to the neutralizer and guided into ejection pole (1) arrangement housing compression member (3). The ejection poles (1) are aligned with their axes at suitable angles to the central axis of the arrangement. The compression members (3) are held in a compressed state by means of a lever (4) holding the locking rings (2) in locked position. The lever (4) is actuated through a motion transfer means like a sheave (5) and lead-line (6) arrangement connected to a prime mover. The neutralizer is ejected from the mechanism onto the target once activated."
