MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611050928 A) filed by Chitkara University, Mohali, Punjab, on April 21, for 'device for neuromuscular rehabilitation of facial muscles.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A device for neuromuscular rehabilitation of facial muscles, comprising a semi-wearable body 101 is worn by a user over a head portion, multiple electrode pads 107 couple to a face of the user at a target facial muscle zone, and including at least EMG (Electromyography) sensing element, a NMES (Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation) stimulator circuitry 110 electrically coupled to the electrode pads 107 delivers neuromuscular electrical stimulation pulses to the target facial muscle zones, an analysis module establishes baseline muscle activity and dynamically adjust NMES stimulation parameters including intensity, frequency, and duration, an AI (artificial intelligence) camera 111 mounted via a rolling rod bar arrangement 112 to capture facial imagery and motion for vision-based feedback, an IoT (Internet of Things) communication module for data transmission and control inputs, and a safety alert module including audio and haptic output units 113,114 for generating alerts during abnormal or unsafe therapy conditions."
