MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421036908 A) filed by Weavetech Engineers Limited, Surat, Gujarat, on May 10, 2024, for 'device for detecting breakage or absence of primary yarn for controlling final yarn package quality.'

Inventor(s) include Amit Chhaganbhai Thumar; and Chintan Vallabhbhai Thumar.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 14, under issue no. 46/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Device (300) consisting of primary yarn breakage or absence sensor (100) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) display (200) in electronic communication with master controller (301) of twisting machine and, cutter control (108) in electronic communication with the primary yarn breakage or absence sensor (100) is disclosed. Said sensor (100) is consisting of spring lever (106), strain gauge (107) and controller (101). Strain gauge (107) is mounted on spring lever (106) and is configured to measure strain in spring lever (106) because of feeding of final twisted yarn (708). Controller (101) is in electronic communication with strain gauge (107) and cutter control (108) and is configured to compare strain measured by strain gauge (107) with set threshold strain value in master controller (301) and activate cutter control (108). Device detects breakage or absence or inadequate twisting of primary yarn or yarns in real time and takes corrective measures for preventing wastages."
