MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441038768 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group Ag, Stuttgart, Germany, on May 17, 2024, for 'device for cooling charging inlet of vehicle.'

Inventor(s) include Amarja Joshi; Prasanna Godbole; Ronnie Mathew; Kapil Vetrivel; and Aishwarya Jadhav.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 21, under issue no. 47/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A device (100) for cooling charging inlet (10) of a vehicle. The device comprises a tube (110) having a first section (122) having tapered internal walls (128) diverging outwardly, a second section (124), and an intermediate chamber (126) arranged between the first and second sections. The tube further comprises an inlet port (132) fluidly coupled to a compressed air source (20), a cold air outlet port (134) coupled to the charging inlet, and a hot air outlet port (136) that releases hot air into atmosphere. Further, the tube is configured to receive a flow of compressed air (140), via the inlet port, into the intermediate chamber, separate the flow of compressed air into a cold air stream (150) and a hot air stream (160), and release the cold air stream (150) and the hot air stream (160) via the cold air outlet port and the hot air outlet port, respectively."
