MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024152 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 26, 2024, for 'device for collecting beetle from a plant.'
Inventor(s) include Monish Kumar Das; Papai Som; Rini Saxena; Neeraj Sharma; and Puneet.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A device for collecting beetle from a plant comprises a cuboidal frame 1 having four telescopic legs 6 underneath its lower surface, motorized omnidirectional wheel 8 for movement of the housing on a ground surface, a roller 5 to rotate about its axis to catch a beetle from a plant and fling it against a vertical surface of the cuboidal frame 1 to collect it in a container 2 at a bottom of the cuboidal frame 1, an artificial intelligence-based to determine a type of plant to trigger a microcontroller to change a rotational speed of the roller 5 to a predetermined speed for the plant type to prevent damage to the plant, a sensing module detects a height of the plant, and a speaker 9 to notify the user regarding a removal of the obstacle."
