MUMBAI, India, June 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517049577 A) filed by Rieter Ag, Winterthur, Switzerland, on May 22, for 'device and method for adjusting a carding gap of a carding machine.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a device and an associated method for dynamically adjusting a carding gap (15) of a carding machine (1). The device has a controller (31) and a cylinder (6) and a revolving flat assembly (10). The carding gap (15) is formed by a distance between the cylinder clothing (7) and the revolving flat (11). A sensor (32) is provided for detecting a position of the revolving flat (11) and a flat profile (38) is stored in the controller (31). An adjustment of a distance (30) between the flexible bow (24, 25) and the cylinder axis (9) is provided by at least one actuator (27), wherein the adjustment is adapted to the flat profile (38) during the movement of the revolving flat (11) such that the carding gap (15) is constant."
