MUMBAI, India, April 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531132753 A) filed by Asansol Engineering College, Asansol, West Bengal, on Dec. 28, 2025, for 'development of a spatio-temporal semantic data management system.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Sujoy Kumar Basu; and Dr. Ashmi Chakraborty.
The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "This proposal presents a novel Internet of Things (IoT)-driven solution to enhance agricultural yield through intelligent monitoring, predictive analytics, and automation. Focusing on three critical domains-climate condition monitoring, soil sampling and mapping, and irrigation forecasting-the proposed system aims to empower farmers with real-time, actionable insights. Leveraging time series forecasting models (ARIMA, LSTM, Prophet) and semantic data systems (STSDMS), the platform integrates edge and cloud computing to support sustainability, resource efficiency, and scalability. Designed with a user-centric approach, the system will reduce water usage, improve soil health, and increase crop productivity, aligning with the EU's Green Deal and Agriculture 5.0 initiatives."
