MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641046876 A) filed by Agni College Of Technology, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on April 13, for 'development of a digitalized canteen pre booking and payment application.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The digitalized canteen pre booking and payment application is a solution that help in transition of the traditional canteen business in educational institutions and organizational campuses to the organized, automated, and information- driven ecosystem. The traditional canteen systems utilize manual system in terms of order placement, cash flow and disorganized queues, this often leads to overcrowding, length of queues, billing errors, wastage of food and poor utilization of resources. The suggested invention will solve these drawbacks by providing a single web-based system that can unite elements of advance ordering, safe digital payment, time slot selection, automated token generation, and live administrative control at a single system. The platform will have three separate user modules, including Student, Faculty, and Admin, all of which will be authenticated using secure authentication protocols with role-based access control. Student module allows users to navigate and view menu items available and their."
