MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517056521 A) filed by Smiths Detection-Watford Limited, Hempstead, U.K., on June 12, for 'detector inlet and sampling method.'

Inventor(s) include Irwin, Ben.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Inlet apparatus for providing sample analyte vapour to a detector, the apparatus comprising: a sample receiving portion (110); a heater (120); a vapour pre-concentrator (130); and a sampling inlet (140); wherein the sample receiving portion is arranged to receive a flow of gas carrying aerosol sample analytes and the heater is arranged to heat the aerosol sample analytes to provide sample analyte vapour; and wherein the apparatus is arranged to provide said sample analyte vapour to both: (i) the vapour pre-concentrator, and (ii) a said detector via the sampling inlet."

The patent application was internationally filed on Dec. 08, 2023, under International application No.PCT/GB2023/053166.
