MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202514090860 A) filed by Honda Motor Co. Ltd., Tokyo, on Sept. 23, 2025, for 'detection device and detection method.'
Inventor(s) include Kuroda, Gen; Nishimiya, Ayumu; Takenoya, Hiromi; and Shimazu, Kosuke.
The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A detection device of an embodiment includes a connection portion that is connectable to a charger connected to an external power source, and a connection detection unit that is provided in electric equipment having a power storage unit, which is charged with electric power from the external power source, and that is configured to detect a connection state of the charger and the connection portion, wherein the connection detection unit is configured to detect the charger is connected to the connection portion in a state in which the charger is connected to the connection portion and electric power is not being supplied from the charger to the electric equipment."
