MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541121482 A) filed by Nandha Engineering College, Erode, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 4, 2025, for 'design and development of smart milk vending machine.'

Inventor(s) include G Ramani; S Sivapriya; G Pradeepraja; K Guhan; S Santhiya; and E Viswasa Michael.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "This work focuses on the design and development of a smart milk vending machine that provides milk in a clean, safe, and automatic manner. Traditional milk distribution often involves manual handling, long waiting time, quality issues, and difficulty in ensuring accurate quantity. To overcome these problems, this smart system stores milk in a food-grade tank and uses a cooling mechanism to maintain the required temperature and preserve freshness. The machine includes a microcontroller, level and temperature sensors, user interface, digital payment system, and a controlled dispensing unit. Users can select the required milk quantity through the display panel and make payment using digital methods for easy and cash-free usage. After payment, the microcontroller check milk level and temperature before dispensing the exact amount of milk. A pump and food-grade piping system ensure smooth and hygienic delivery into the user's container. The system automatically stops dispensing once the desired quantity is delivered, ensuring precise measurement without wastage. This automated vending machine reduces manpower, improves hygiene, saves time, and provides round-the-clock milk availability in public places such as dairy stores, hostels, flats, villages, and community centers. The invention aims to modernize milk distribution, make the process more efficient and user-friendly, and promote a clean and reliable milk supply system for consumers."
