Inventor(s) include Dr. Senthil S M; Mr. Lalith Shankhar R C; Mr. Saravanakumar K; and Mr. Yogesh Yadav.
The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Design and development of fixture for CNC turning center Abstract: The present invention relates to a modular and cost-effective fixture system designed for precision machining of valve bodies used in various industrial applications. Conventional fixtures suffer from limitations such as poor flexibility, reduced accuracy, longer setup times, and inefficiency in high-volume production. To overcome these challenges, the proposed fixture incorporates a circular base plate, a flat locating plate, and an inclined locating plate, enabling accurate orientation of the valve body for multi-side machining. The fixture employs the 3-2-1 locating principle to ensure precise positioning and repeatability. Fabricated using EN8 material, the system offers high strength, machinability, and economic feasibility. The design supports multiple part configurations and facilitates rapid loading and unloading, significantly reducing setup and cycle times. Comprehensive design validation, including CAD modeling, structural analysis, and industrial testing, demonstrates improved adaptability, safety, and process consistency, making the fixture suitable for efficient batch production."
