MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541124459 A) filed by Saveetha Institute Of Medical And Technical Sciences, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 10, 2025, for 'design and development and validation of a manual fluid counter machine for accurate cell counting in body fluid.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Srikanth S; Dr Sridevi. M; and Deepak Nallaswamy Veeraiyan.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 13, under issue no. 07/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a manual digital fluid cell counter machine designed for accurate and efficient counting of cellular components in various body fluids. The device comprises a series of dedicated buttons corresponding to specific cell types and LCD screens that display individual counts in real time. A total LCD screen provides cumulative counts, while a reset button enables fresh data entry. The machine is powered through a DC IN port and offers a compact, user-friendly design suitable for diagnostic laboratories. The invention reduces human error associated with traditional manual tally counters, enhances accuracy, and improves workflow efficiency. Alternative embodiments may include data storage, USa or wireless connectivity, semi-automated integration with digital microscopy, and fully automated versions incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) for cell recognition. The invention is particularly useful in hematology and pathology for routine and specialized fluid cell analysis."
