According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention is a dermatological base formulation composed of a water phase and an oil phase, characterized in that, the water phase comprises a humectant of a concentration value of 1-3 %w/w, a gelling agent of a concentration value of 0.5-2 %w/w and water; and the oil phase comprises a fatty acid ester of a concentration value of 3-16 %w/w, an emulsifier of a concentration value of 0.5 to 5 %w/w, and a wax of a concentration value of 0.8-3.5 %w/w. The present topical base formulations are for preparing dermatological drug compositions comprising one or more active pharmaceutical ingredients/ compounded drugs, for the treatment of dermatological conditions. The base is stable and compatible with a variety of drugs and cosmeceutical ingredients."
