MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541123400 A) filed by Kalasalingam Academy Of Research And Education, Virudhnagar, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 8, 2025, for 'deployable vehicle fire supression blanket with embedded heat activated fire shutdown explosive capsules.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. S. Shasi Anand; and Dr. P. Jayakumar.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 13, under issue no. 07/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a deployable fire-control assembly for enclosing a vehicle 5 during a fire incident. The system includes three fold poles (1), a height expandable column (3), a first fold expander hub (4}, a cross folding pole (5), and a second fold down pole (6) for guided expansion. A wrapping blanket cloth (7} covers the vehicle once the frame is raised. Explosive capsules (8) embedded in the blanket activate under heat to release suppressant. The assembly is stabilised by an end fixing ground I 0 pole (2) and a ground support flange (11 ). Front downing cloth (9} and rear downing cloth (10} complete the enclosure. The system forms a compact, portable solution for rapid vehicle fire control."
