MUMBAI, India, Sept. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421015198 A) filed by Shigli Anand Lingaraj; Hegde Rahul Jagannath; Karibassapa Nagappa Gundabhakta; Gawali Pritesh Namdeo; Narsule Divya Arvind; and Narkhede Sakshi Shrikant, Pune, Maharashtra, on Feb. 29, 2024, for 'dental caries-removal device and method for dental caries-removal.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Dental caries-removal device (100) and method of the present invention is mechanically powered without electric motor and hence does not cause user's hand-fatigue and does not cause fearful and anxious noise as compared with the prior arts. Dental caries-removal device (100) includes body (10), actuator (20), linkage-arrangement (30), sliding-platform (40), frame (50), spring (60), driver gear (70), driven gear (80), gear-connector (90) and caries-removal tool (95). Manual actuator (20) operates the linkage-arrangement (30) to attain an extended and retracted configuration for the sliding-platform (40) to attain outward and inward configuration. Sliding-platform (40) slides-in the frame (50) defining the inward configuration and slides-out from the frame (50) defining the outward configuration. Spring (60) gain force upon the inward configuration of the sliding-platform (40). Driver gear (70) and driven gear (80) connected by the gear-connector (90) and rotates caries-removal tool (95)."
