MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441006182 A) filed by Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., Gyeonggi, Republic of Korea, on Jan. 30, 2024, for 'delay status report handling for extended reality in a communication network system.'

Inventor(s) include Vinay Kumar Shrivastava; and Sriganesh.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Embodiments disclosed herein describe a method and User Equipment (UE) (100) for delay status report (DSR) handling for Extended Reality (XR) within a communication network system. The method involves the UE (100) detecting a transmission of a Medium Access Control (MAC) Protocol Data Unit (PDU) or a cancellation of the DSR that triggered a Scheduling Request (SR) for the DSR. The UE (100) stops an ongoing random access procedure initiated due to the SR for the DSR, wherein the SR for the DSR lacks configuration of valid Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH) resources. This solution offers an enhanced DSR handling mechanism that ensures efficient transmission and better scheduling for the XR applications in wireless networks."
