MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411022863 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 23, 2024, for 'deformation elimination device for metal workpiece.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A deformation elimination device for metal workpiece, comprising a rectangular frame 1 configured with plurality of motorized omnidirectional wheels 2 for maneuvering the frame 1 on workpiece, a screen 3 for enabling a user to give input commands for removing bent edge of the workpiece, an imaging unit 4 for detecting edge of workpiece, a rectangular member 5 via an L-shaped link 6 in contact with one side of bent edge, an plate 7 installed with first portion of frame 1 via an L-shaped telescopically operated rod 8 to extend, a motorized slider 9 for translating the rod 8 for positioning plate 7 in contact with other side of the edge, a motorized cutter 11 via an L-shaped telescopically operated bar 12 for cutting edge and a robotic arm 15 1 for welding cracks via a welding unit 16 equipped with robotic arm 15."
