MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541132981 A) filed by Dr. Mahalingam College Of Engineering And Technnology, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 29, 2025, for 'deep learning based multimodal imaging system for precision diagnosis of plant leaf diseases.'

Inventor(s) include Deepa S; and Selvanayaki S.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 27, under issue no. 09/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention offers a multimodal imaging and deep learning-based system of making accurate diagnosis of plant leaf diseases. The system combines RGB, hyperspectral, thermal, and fluorescence imaging to obtain a complete provision of data about the health of plants. A fusion model with deep learning is used to analyze different types of multimodal data to identify early-stage diseases, classify them, and estimate the level of severity. The system facilitates non-invasive, diagnostic assistance with very high accuracy in agricultural work to enhance crop management and diminish crop loss."
