MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411008220 A) filed by Fabetto Ecotech Private Limited, Roorkee, Uttarakhand, on Feb. 7, 2024, for 'decentralized composting apparatus.'

Inventor(s) include Mr. Anil Sharma; and Mr. Suraj Prakash.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a decentralized composting apparatus (100) with a higher aeration rate and higher composting rate. In the present invention, the composter (1) or the decentralized composting apparatus (100) comprises a frame (101), a compost chamber (1011), a liquid collecting chamber (1012), a shaft (103) plurality of slits (1032), aeration plate (104) and an outer lid (102). The present invention increases the natural aeration efficiency of composting, by introducing air pockets and holes at appropriate places, together with the strategic placement of slits on the shaft (103). The present invention has reduced air permeable distance to 2-3 inches in the whole volume of composter (1) and the design is better suited for households having waste generation capacity ranging between 0.5-5 kgs."
