MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517091448 A) filed by Lanxess Corporation, Pittsburgh, on Sept. 24, for 'decabromodiphenyl ethane-free flame retardant thermoplastic composition.'
Inventor(s) include He, Qingliang; Simpson, Christopher; Jacobs, Patrick; Mauerer, Otto; and Tebbe, Heiko.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A method of replacing decabromodiphenyl ethane in a flame retardant thermoplastic composition by combining (a) a thermoplastic polymer; (b) an aromatic brominated flame retardant that is not decabromodiphenyl ethane; and (c) a synergist for the aromatic brominated flame retardant. A flame retardant thermoplastic composition that is free of decabromodiphenyl ethane contains (a) a thermoplastic polymer, (b) an aromatic brominated flame retardant that is not decabromodiphenyl ethane; and (c) a synergist for the aromatic brominated flame retardant."
The patent application was internationally filed on Mar. 05, 2024, under International application No.PCT/US2024/018495.
