MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311060841 A) filed by Chairman, Defence Research & Development Organisation, New Delhi, on Sept. 11, 2023, for 'dbx-1 containing electric squib for detonator applications.'

Inventor(s) include Marimuthu, Anniyappan; Singh, Amitesh Pratap; Nair, Jaya Kamalesh; and Krothapalli, Prabhakara Subrahmanya Murthy.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a novel electric squib device (10) comprising of Copper(I) 5-nitroterazolate as a single explosive primer charge (5), in a squib plug (1), with at least two lead wires (2), a bridge wire (3), a sleeve cup (4), a moisture protection layer (6), and a rubber holder (7) for use in detonator applications.
