MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025398 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 28, 2024, for 'damaged/ broken pipe repairing assistive device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A damaged/ broken pipe repairing assistive device, comprising a cuboidal body 1 developed to be positioned on a ground surface in proximity to a pipeline, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 2 installed on the body 1 evaluates a 3D (three-dimension) mapping of the surroundings, a touch interactive display panel 3 mapped on the body 1 for displaying the evaluated mapping, a robotic arm 4 installed on the body 1 to access a multi-sectioned chamber 5 arranged within the body 1 for gripping a tool and working in sync for mending the pipeline and a vacuum-based cleaning unit 6 installed on the body 1 for withdrawing debris and pipe dust generating during repairing the pipe."
