MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541122117 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 4, 2025, for 'cyberbullying detection system with multimodal content analysis.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a method (100) for detecting cyberbullying in digital content. The method receives user input content including text input and/or image input in step (102). For text input, the method analyzes the text using sentiment analysis to generate a sentiment score in step (104). For image input, the method extracts text using optical character recognition in step (106) and analyzes the extracted text using sentiment analysis to generate a sentiment score. The method determines whether the sentiment score is below a predetermined threshold in steps (108A, 108B), flags the content as cyberbullying when the sentiment score is below the threshold in steps (110A, 110B), and generates a notification to a registered guardian when cyberbullying is detected in steps."
