MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411023092 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 24, 2024, for 'cutting assistive device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A cutting assistive device comprises of an elongated body 1 crafted with a handle that is accessed by a user to position the body 1 over a cleaver knife, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 2 installed over the body 1 determines thickness of the knife, a pair of plates 3 attached with the body 1 each via a motorized hinge joint to provide rotation to the to the plates 3 in order to grip the top portion of the knife in a secured manner, a speaker installed over the body 1 to produce a voice command to notify the user regarding the receded pressure, an air compressor installed over the handle to inflate an inflatable layer configured over the handle for providing cushioning effect to the user while applying the pressure."
