MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411013456 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 24, 2024, for 'currency note management device for visually impaired.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A currency note management device for visually impaired, comprising a first and second plate 2 hold by visually impaired user and stored with a currency note, a camera 4 detects presence of note, a motorized roller 5 translates note towards a primary slit 6, a first curved-shaped member 7 deployed by a pivot joint 8 for positioning note in contact with first member 7 which is partially inserted within a primary hollow section, two primary motorized clippers 9 grip note, two primary curved-sliders 10 translates primary clippers 9 to properly accommodate note within primary section, primary clippers 9 and primary sliders 10 for transferring note towards second member 11, two secondary motorized clippers 15 grips note, two secondary curved-sliders translates clippers to properly accommodate note, a microphone 16 for feeding voice command for taking note out and accordingly each roller 5 slider and clipper works for taking note out."
