MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024813 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 27, 2024, for 'cup holding device for two-wheelers.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Shivani Vaid; Dr. Geetika Sharma; Aman Khajuria; and Yatin.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A cup holding device for two-wheelers comprising, a frame 1 developed to be installed on a handlebar of a two-wheeler by a user, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 is installed on the frame 1 to determine dimensions of cylindrical bodies, a pair of extendable curved members 4 is integrated in the frame 1 to extend/retract in accordance to determined dimensions of bodies for allowing accommodation of each of body that is to be held on two wheelers' handlebar, a pair of telescopically operated rods 6 arranged on top and bottom portion of member to extend/retract for positioning a suction unit integrated on each of rods 6 in proximity to top and bottom portion of body, the suction unit is actuated by microcontroller to adhere on top and bottom portion of body for affixing rods 6 on body."
