MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641062032 A) filed by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kollam, Kerala, on May 15, for 'crosslinked polymer film for selective adsorption of dyes and method of preparation thereof.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a crosslinked polymer film comprises: a polymer; and a cross linker, wherein the cross linker is present in an amount ranging from 5 wt% to 20 wt%, relative to the weight of the polymer. The present disclosure also relates to a method of preparation of crosslinked polymer film, the method comprising: a) dissolving a polymer in a solvent to obtain a polymer solution; b) dissolving a cross linker in an alkaline solution to obtain a cross linker solution; c) adding the cross linker solution to the polymer solution with stirring to form a mixture; d) concentrating the mixture to obtain a concentrated mixture; and e) casting the concentrated mixture in a mould subsequently drying the concentrated mixture to obtain a crosslinked polymer film, wherein the cross linker is present in an amount ranging from 5 wt% to 20 wt%, relative to the weight of the polymer. The present disclosure also provide a method for removing dyes from an aqueous solution by using the prepared crosslinked polymer film."
