MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411073949 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Sept. 30, 2024, for 'corner joint aligning assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Hardeep Singh; Dr. Narinder Kumar; Jatin; and Krishna Bhanu.
The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A corner joint aligning assistive device, comprising a V shaped frame 1 having a pair of vertical plates 2 arranged on opposing ends of the frame 1, handle 3 that is accessed by a user to position the frame 1 on a fixed surface, speaker 4 to produce audio signals for guiding a user to accommodate a pair of planks that are to be aligned on sideways of the plates 2, artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 5 for capturing images of the frame 1 to determine dimensions of the accommodated planks, drawer arrangement 6 for supporting the planks from one side, rectangular body 7 having a cavity 8 in center arranged on mid-length of the frame 1 and a hydraulically operated rod 9 for positioning an inverted U-shaped member 10 on side surface of the planks for applying an appropriate pressure on the planks to fixate the planks."
