MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531018719 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on March 3, for 'corncob peel removing device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Shakti Prakash Jena.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A corncob peel removing device comprises of a hollow cylindrical member 101 having a motorized roller 102 containing a spool of a strap which is attached with the member 101 for securing the member 101 onto a hand of a user, multiple sharp blades 103 installed on the member 101 for catching onto peel of the corncob for removal, a laser sensor to detect dimensions of the user's hand, a vertical sliding unit 104 attached along a height of the member 101 incorporated with a telescopic rod 105 by means of a ball and socket joint 106, end of the rod 105 provided with a clipper 107 for gripping and pulling a corncob through the member 101, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 108, installed on the member 101 to determine an end of the corncob extending from the member 101."
