MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517045092 A) filed by Qualcomm Incorporated, San Diego, on May 9, for 'core and radio access network signaling for overlap configuration recommendation and selection for sounding reference signals (srs) for positioning.'

Inventor(s) include Manolakos Alexandros; Kumar Mukesh; and Yerramalli Srinivas.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed are techniques for communication. In an aspect a location server transmits to a base station serving a user equipment (UE) a request for one or more transmission frequency hopping characteristics of an uplink positioning reference signal (UL PRS) to be transmitted by the UE during a positioning session the one or more transmission frequency hopping characteristics including at least a frequency domain overlap parameter for frequency domain hops of the UL PRS and receives from the base station a response indicating an acceptance of the one or more transmission frequency hopping characteristics or modified values of the one or more transmission frequency hopping characteristics."

The patent application was internationally filed on Jan. 29, 2024, under International application No.PCT/US2024/013312.
