MUMBAI, India, Sept. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441011836 A) filed by National Institute Of Ocean Technology, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Feb. 20, 2024, for 'copper slag concrete composite with microbially ingrained ferro fusion for marine application.'
Inventor(s) include Prince Prakash Jeba Kumar J; Ragumaran S; and Vijaya Ravichandran.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 5, under issue no. 36/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a process of concrete making for marine applications using copper slag named Cu-biosand, more particularly, the present invention addresses creating a bio-based mineral composite through bioengineering of copper slag waste through Microbial Ingrained Ferro Fusion using the interaction between living bacteria and copper slag wastes."
