MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531017976 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on Feb. 28, for 'copper rivet installation device for leather works.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A copper rivet installation device for leather works, comprising a rectangular base 101 having a pair of clippers 102 for gripping a leather item, a rigid member 103 having an L-shaped cross-section mounted on the base 101 having a telescopic link 104 having a drilling unit 105 for drilling holes in the leather item, an L-shaped telescopic bar 106 attached with the member 103 having a motorized cutting wheel for cutting the leather item, a robotic arm 107 disposed on the base 101 for fetching a copper rivet from a chamber 108 installed on the base 101, a hydraulic pusher 109 mounted on the member 103 for pressing head of a rivet into the leather item and an imaging unit 110 installed on the member 103 to determine an obstacle underneath the structure."
